Lead Renewable Energy Operation and Maintenance Engineer for Phthiotis and Thessaly based in Thessaly

Role Overview

The role holder supports the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of renewable energy facilities by monitoring their performance and coordinating day-to-day operation and maintenance activities. The role involves collaboration with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to achieve optimal operational performance, control costs and ensure compliance with technical requirements and HSE standards.

Responsibilities

Supervise the necessary daily activities at the facility, including scheduled, preventive or corrective maintenance, to ensure its proper operation in accordance with drawings, specifications and execution schedules.
Monitor the facility’s daily operation against performance indicators, generation budgets and operating costs, and propose improvements.
Coordinate activities with contractors and suppliers and monitor the fulfilment of their contractual obligations.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards and company procedures, safeguarding the facility and personnel on site.
Ensure adherence to and proper implementation of the facility’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
Communicate and collaborate with technical consultants, local public authorities, landowners and other parties on matters concerning the facility.
Ensure the application of technical standards, specifications and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with other company departments and divisions, including Permitting, Insurance, Energy Resource Assessment and Construction.

Candidate Profile

University degree in Electrical Engineering.
2–5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in either of the following areas:
Operation and maintenance (O&M) of energy infrastructure and renewable energy projects, with an emphasis on photovoltaic projects, or in a heavy industry environment.
Alternatively, supervision of the construction of energy infrastructure, renewable energy projects, preferably photovoltaic, or heavy industry projects.
Ability to read and understand technical electrical drawings and specifications.
Ability to collaborate and coordinate work with company teams or external contractors’ personnel.
Organisational skills in maintenance planning, scheduling and execution, to optimise maintenance schedules, control execution costs and achieve optimal facility performance.
Computer and software skills, including knowledge of protection systems in medium- and high-voltage networks and data analysis using SCADA and Data Historian systems. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems such as SAP and automation systems will be considered an additional asset.
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
